OPMC BYLAWS REVISIONS

transparency, stewardship, and long-term sustainability

Why is OPMC revising its bylaws?

We started the journey as a 501(c)(3) in 2019, creating bylaws and establishing a board of directors — led by community members.

The organization and the community has grown and continues to improve itself.

January 2025 - OPMC undergoes a screening audit by the Muslim Legal Fund of America (MLFA) related to documentation, procedures, and best practices.

March 2025 - OPMC board training by an MLFA attorney

April 2025 - OPMC retains an attorney to bring the bylaws in compliance with federal and state regulations, and create policies and procedures in alignment with nonprofit best practices.

  • Member-elected Board of Directors

  • Members withpaid dues electing the Board every 2 or 3 years

  • Self-perpetuating Board of Directors
