Assalamu Alaikum,

The Oak Park Muslim Community creates a gathering place and community for Muslims in Oak Park, Illinois and the near West suburbs. We welcome Muslims of all ages, racial, and cultural backgrounds who live or work in our surrounding near West suburban community.

Our Vision

We hope to achieve the following in our own mosque, with Allah’s (SWT) guidance:

  • A space for daily prayer, weekly Jummah, Tarawih prayers

  • Quranic learnings and halaqas

  • Youth programming

  • Community gatherings, such as Iftar and Eid festivities

  • Community service projects such as aiding the unhoused and coat/food drives

Let us join together to build this community.

The first step in this direction is to financially commit to the cause.

The Muslims in this area need a home we can go to for worship and to experience a sense of community.

Accessibility – There is no mosque in the local area where one can conveniently reach and attend prayer on time. In particular, Jumuah and Taraweeh prayers.

Community – Many of our families have a strong desire to see a mosque they can attend and grow with. This will create bonds for the children that will reinforce a positive Muslim identity.

Blessings for the Hereafter – The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him likewise in Paradise.” (Sahih al-Bukhari)
